Job Description

HB & Co Salon and Spa Massage Therapist Job Description Full Time or Part Time FT:
55% commission, 21+ hours weekly
PT:
50% commission, under 21 hours weekly This is averaged quarterly to allow for flexibility for time off. Discounted services and products At HB & Co, our Massage Therapists provide exceptional therapeutic body work while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, cleanliness, client care and confidentiality. Therapists are expected to create a welcoming, safe and healing environment while supporting the daily operations and values of our salon and spa.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Client Care:
Perform massage services according to licensure, training and spa protocol Conduct thorough client consultations and review health histories prior to services Customize treatments based on client needs, preferences and contraindications Educate clients on aftercare, wellness recommendations and treatment plans for returning visits Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards at all times Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled appointments, allowing time for perfecting your workspace and prepping for your treatments each day Treatment Room Cleaning & Sanitization Massage Therapists are responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary and welcoming treatment environment
Responsibilities Include:
Sanitize face cradle, table, oil bottle, any tools used, stool and all high-touch services in between each client Changing linens between each client Sweep and spot clean treatment rooms floors as needed throughout the day Restock treatment rooms with linens, oils and supplies as needed throughout each shift Participate in opening and closing cleaning duties Follow all State Board sanitation regulations and HB & Co cleaning protocols Report damaged equipment or maintenance concerns promptly Daily Operations Therapists are expected to contribute to the smooth operation of the salon and spa by: Reviewing schedules daily and arriving early to prepare treatment rooms Maintaining accurate client records and treatment notes Assisting with laundry duties and stocking shared spaces as needed Supporting front desk staff with client flow and communication when appropriate Promoting services and retail products in an educational, non-pressure manner Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities Upholding HB & Co's mission, culture and standards of excellence HIPPA & Client Confidentiality All Massage Therapists are expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information.
Employees Must:
Protect all client health information and personal information from unauthorized disclosure Never discuss client information with anyone not directly involved in their care Secure paper files and electronic records according to salon and spa policies Access client information only as necessary to perform job duties Immediately report any suspected privacy breaches or security concerns to management Follow all applicable federal and state privacy regulations, including HIPPA where applicable Failure to maintain confidentiality may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination Professional Standards Massage Therapists are expected to: Maintain an active massage therapy license in the state of Indiana Carry professional liability insurance

Work shirts will be provided upon employment and annually afterwards. Black pants and closed-toed shoes required Communicate respectfully with clients and coworkers Maintain healthy workplace boundaries and contribute to a positive team culture Refrain from discrimination, harassment, gossip or unprofessional conduct Opening Duties Turn on treatment room warmers, music and equipment stocked with hot towels Ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked and sanitized Check laundry supplies and linens Review daily schedule and client notes Prepare common areas for guest arrival Closing Duties Complete all treatment notes before leaving Sanitize treatment rooms and equipment Remove all linens and start laundry as assigned Restock supplies for the following day Turn off equipment, lights, and secure treatment rooms Complete any assigned closing checklists Qualifications
REQUIRED
Active Indiana Massage Therapy License CPR certification Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of anatomy, contraindications and therapeutic techniques Commitment to cleanliness, professionalism and client-centered care
PREFERRED
Experience in spa, wellness, or therapeutic settings Trainings in specialty modalities, such as
  • deep tissue
  • trigger point
  • prenatal
  • myofascial release
  • lymphatic drainage
  • hot stone
