Position Overview IHS is seeking a professional, dependable, and compassionate Licensed Massage Therapist to provide mobile massage therapy services to clients in senior living communities, assisted living facilities, private residences, and community wellness events. This is an excellent opportunity for a massage therapist seeking a flexible schedule, supplemental income, and the opportunity to build a consistent client base without managing marketing, scheduling, or facility relationships independently.
Services may include:
Swedish and relaxation massage Therapeutic massage Chair massage Massage for older adults Wellness events and facility demonstrations Thirty• sixty• and ninety-minute massage sessions Responsibilities Provide safe, professional, and individualized massage therapy services. Review relevant client health information and identify contraindications before treatment. Modify massage techniques based on each client's age, medical history, comfort, mobility, and tolerance. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and client confidentiality. Document services accurately and complete required service records promptly. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment. Communicate effectively with clients, families, facility staff, and the IHS administrative team. Arrive on time and provide adequate notice of schedule changes. Represent IHS professionally during community events, demonstrations, and meet-and-greet programs. Follow all applicable Maryland licensing requirements and professional standards. Required Qualifications Active and unrestricted Maryland massage therapy license or registration, as applicable. Completion of an accredited massage therapy program. Professional liability insurance. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to assigned client and facility locations. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and manage scheduled appointments responsibly. Ability to safely transport and set up any required massage equipment. Ability to successfully complete a background check. Authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with older adults or individuals with mobility limitations. Experience providing massage services in assisted living, independent living, memory care, rehabilitation, or home-based settings. Experience with chair massage and community wellness events. CPR and First Aid certification. Availability during selected weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Compensation and Schedule Competitive per-session compensation based on service duration and type. Current compensation range is approximately $45•100 per completed session . Flexible part-time and PRN scheduling. Opportunities for recurring appointments within senior living communities. Potential for additional hours as the massage therapy program expands. Administrative support with client referrals, scheduling coordination, facility relationships, and service promotion.
