Job Description

Job Overview Chelsea Massage and Ann Arbor Massage and Yoga Therapy, run by husband and wife team Trevor Eller and Miriam Dowd-Eller, offers therapeutic and relaxing massages tailored to clients' needs. We also offer one-on-one yoga therapy services following evidence-based yoga practice and Ayurvedic wisdom. We're looking for a Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team at our Downtown Chelsea office. We're seeking a passionate and skilled massage therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. You'll have the freedom to grow your clients with us, while benefiting from our established client base and resources. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional therapeutic massage services designed to promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall well-being. This role requires a professional with a strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology, committed to delivering personalized care in a client-focused environment. Experience in medical, spa settings, and occupational health is highly desirable. New massage therapists are also encouraged to apply. The Licensed Massage Therapist will play a vital role in enhancing our clients' health and satisfaction through expert massage techniques and attentive service.
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional massage therapy services to clients at our Chelsea location, manage your own schedule, keep the shared massage space clean and tidy, as well as clean your own massage sheets.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Michigan.
  • Extensive background in therapeutic yoga and certification as a yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapy is a bonus.
  • Experience with cranial sacral and myofascial release preferred.
  • Graduates of Irene's Myomassology Institute are highly encouraged to apply.
  • All qualified therapists are welcome, regardless of school affiliation.

Duties Perform various massage techniques, based on one's preferred techniques. We prefer graduates from Irene's Myomassology Institute skilled in addressing client-specific needs. Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans based on individual health conditions and goals. Apply knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure safe and effective treatments. Educate clients on pain management strategies and post-treatment care to optimize results. Maintain detailed records of treatments provided, client progress, and any relevant health information. Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients at all times. Provide excellent patient service by listening attentively, addressing concerns, and customizing sessions accordingly. Stay current with industry best practices, occupational health standards, and new massage techniques through ongoing professional development. Requirements Valid Michigan State licensure as a Massage Therapist (LMT). Proven experience with patient service, patient assessment, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and pain management. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming environment for clients. Prior experience working as a massage therapist is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethics. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to accommodate client schedules.
