LICENSED DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE THERAPIST ROLE OVERVIEW
Sens Commons•The Studio is seeking an energetic, thoughtful, and highly motivated Licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in deep tissue therapeutic massage and helping clients improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore functional movement. Reporting to the General Manager and Studio Owner, this non-exempt, commission-based role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about creating meaningful impact through personalized wellness, an elevated client experience, and a collaborative community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive client assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic massage sessions focused on pain relief, mobility improvement, injury recovery, and overall musculoskeletal health. Educate clients on session goals, self-care recommendations, and realistic expectations while building long-term therapeutic relationships. Perform individualized 60, 75, 90, and 120 minute therapeutic massage sessions with an emphasis on deep tissue treatment while also providing sports, prenatal, Swedish, and assisted stretch sessions based on client needs. Maintain massage rooms and equipment by cleaning and sanitizing after each session and at the end of each shift. Collaborate with personal trainers and other wellness professionals to support client's overall movement, recovery, and wellness goals. Uphold reliable attendance and punctuality. Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development. Support additional Studio needs as directed by leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current and valid Michigan Massage Therapy License Current CPR/AED cartification 1+ year of experience providing therapeutic deep tissue massage and treating clients with chronic pain, muscular dysfunction, or movement limitations preferred. Commitment to building a successful practice within the Studio while continually developing professional skills and industry knowledge Advanced training or demonstrated proficiency in deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, sports massage, assisted stretching, or other orthopedic and therapeutic treatment techniques is highly preferred. Additional training in prenatal massage, hot stone massage, craniosacral therapy, or other specialized modalities is a plus. Demonstrates behaviors aligned with the core values of
