Job Description

Body Kneads Massage & Wellness Missoula, MT | bodykneadsmassage.com Licensed Massage Therapist + Studio Lead Part-Time | Commission + Hourly Ops Pay | W-2 Employee
WHO WE ARE
Body Kneads Massage & Wellness is a small, care-forward massage practice in Missoula, MT. We believe in slowing down, building real relationships, and providing therapeutic massage that actually makes a difference. We're not a franchise. We're not a volume mill. We're a place where clients come back because they feel genuinely cared for.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Licensed Massage Therapist who takes real pride in their craft; someone who understands that a great massage is about reading your client, building trust over time, and meeting people exactly where they're at. You're the right fit if you: Have strong technique and kinesiology knowledge and aren't afraid to apply therapeutic pressure when it's called for. Care deeply about building long-term client relationships--not just filling a time slot Are reliable, self-motivated, and take ownership of your space and your clients Want the craft and the connection without the stress of running a business Are looking to grow a loyal book over time
WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE
This is primarily a massage role — you'll be seeing clients, building your book, and doing what you love. You'll also take on a small amount of studio ops each month (supply checks, linen coordination, keeping the space stocked and ready), which comes with additional hourly pay on top of your commission.
Day to day:
Perform therapeutic massage sessions (60 and 90 minute) Build genuine relationships with clients and support rebooking Maintain a clean, welcoming treatment space Assist with light studio ops: supply inventory, linen drop-off/pickup, restocking (~4-5 hrs/month)
COMPENSATION
We believe in transparent pay. Here's exactly how this works: Massage Commission (tiered — per two-week pay period): 1-20 sessions: 45% per service 21-35 sessions: 50% per service 36+ sessions: 55% per service Service rates: $95 (60 min) | $135 (90 min)
Studio Ops:
Hourly pay for supply runs, linen coordination, and restocking (~4-5 hrs/month)
Tips:
Clients tip generously — average $20+/hr session — and are yours entirely.
What you can realistically earn:
Starting (5-8 sessions/week): ~$1,100-1,600/month in commission + tips Building (10-15 sessions/week): ~$2,000-2,800/month in commission + tips Full book (18-25 sessions/week): ~$3,200-4,800/month in commission + tips We're committed to helping you build your book quickly. You'll inherit an existing client base within 2 weeks of start date.
REQUIREMENTS
Active Montana LMT license (required) Preferred CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong therapeutic technique — ability to work with a range of pressure preferences Reliable, professional, and genuinely warm with clients Comfortable with light studio upkeep and supply management
TO APPLY
Send a brief intro about yourself and why this role feels like a fit to bodykneadsmissoula@gmail.com. We'd love to hear about your approach to massage and what building a loyal client book means to you. No lengthy cover letters needed-just be yourself.
Pay:
$45.00 - $70.00 per hour
Benefits:
Continuing education credits Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off
Work Location:
In person
