Responsibilities Using hands-on massage techniques to address soft tissue dysfunction, to relieve pain and discomfort and provide treatment for those recovering from injuries, to maintain wellness or address medical conditions within your scope of practice on site at Roots. Discuss client concerns, medical histories and specific stresses or pain points to establish a therapeutic relationship, build trust, and develop the most effective approach to customise your clients' massage therapy treatments. Develop personalized treatment plans for individual clients that specify massage types, treatment areas and treatment frequency. Consult with physiotherapists, strength coach, and teammates as needed. Refer clients to other professionals and therapists when appropriate Help keep massage therapy space clean and tidy at all times, including changing linens and disinfecting equipment between each client. Take laundry to the laundry room, stock linens and refill lotions and oils as needed. Communicate any needs, changes, support, and problems or concerns with management as they arise. Maintain open communication for conflict resolution. Representing self and Roots community and its members with respect and dignity at all times. Qualifications Hold current RI state massage therapy license (LMT). 3+ years'+ experience as a massage therapist. Professional, responsible, respectful and works well in a community environment with teammates. Aware of and adheres to all current RI regulations and laws related to massage therapy. Ability to properly handle and respect sensitive client information with confidentiality. Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals Culturally sensitive and trauma informed approach- (training provided) 2 professional references within the last 3 years.
