Job Summary The Hilltop Spa at The Preserve is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Massage Therapist to provide exceptional massage services while serving as a leader, mentor, and operational resource for the spa team. The Lead Massage Therapist is responsible for delivering personalized, elevated treatment experiences consistent with the standards of a luxury resort environment while supporting the Spa Manager with daily operations, team development, treatment standards, scheduling, inventory, and quality assurance. This position requires an individual who demonstrates advanced technical expertise, sound professional judgment, exceptional guest-service skills, leadership ability, and a genuine commitment to maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality. The Lead Massage Therapist will serve as a role model for all service providers and is expected to consistently represent The Preserve and The Hilltop Spa with professionalism, integrity, warmth, and attention to detail. Responsibilities Guest Experience & Treatment Services Provide exceptional massage services tailored to each guest's individual needs, preferences, wellness goals, and treatment history. Perform a variety of advanced massage modalities and customized body treatments in accordance with established spa protocols and standards. Conduct thorough and professional guest consultations prior to treatment. Make appropriate treatment, wellness, enhancement, and home-care recommendations based on each guest's individual needs. Maintain exceptional standards of draping, sanitation, guest privacy, professional boundaries, and treatment-room presentation. Create a warm, personalized, and highly professional experience consistent with luxury and five-star hospitality standards. Anticipate guest needs and consistently exceed expectations through thoughtful service and attention to detail. Establish strong guest relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Encourage future bookings and develop long-term guest relationships. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all spa services, treatments, products, packages, promotions, and enhancements. Educate guests on appropriate retail products and future treatments in an authentic, informative, and non-pressure manner. Support spa revenue goals through ethical, knowledgeable, and needs-based recommendations. Leadership & Team Development Serve as a role model and resource for massage therapists. Mentor and support team members in treatment techniques, guest service, product knowledge, communication, and professional standards. Assist management in vetting and interviewing candidates for massage, esthetics, and nail positions. Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and continuing education for spa team members. Serve as a first point of contact for providers seeking clarification, guidance, or support. Help maintain consistency in treatment protocols, service execution, guest service, and quality standards. Provide constructive feedback to team members and communicate opportunities or concerns to the Spa Director. Assist management with enforcing established spa policies and procedures. Assist with professionally addressing team concerns and resolving workplace disputes when appropriate. Promote a positive, respectful, collaborative, and professional team culture. Lead by example and consistently demonstrate the standards expected of all Hilltop Spa team members. Spa Operations Assign treatment rooms daily based on the spa schedule, treatment requirements, provider needs, and operational efficiency. Support the Spa Manager with daily spa operations and special projects as needed. Assist in maintaining treatment protocols, service menus, treatment timing, and quality standards. Assist with the introduction and testing of new products, tools, equipment, and treatment techniques in collaboration with management and approved vendors. Assist with maintaining a pristine, serene, organized, and luxury-level spa environment. Identify operational opportunities and communicate recommendations for improvement to management. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Spa Director or management. Inventory, Treatment Rooms & Facilities Monitor treatment rooms, supplies, linens, equipment, and treatment products to ensure appropriate inventory levels and presentation standards. Communicate replenishment needs to management in a timely manner. Complete monthly counts of products utilized in treatment areas. Complete quarterly counts of treatment linens. Ensure treatment rooms are properly prepared, clean, stocked, organized, and presented according to Hilltop Spa standards. Report maintenance concerns promptly to Engineering and follow up as necessary to ensure timely resolution. Identify spa upkeep, equipment, maintenance, or improvement needs and communicate them professionally to management. Compliance & Professional Standards Perform all services in accordance with applicable state licensing requirements, sanitation regulations, safety standards, and The Preserve's policies and procedures. Maintain all required professional licenses and certifications in good standing. Maintain strict guest confidentiality and privacy at all times. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with guests and colleagues. Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures. Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and communication style consistent with a luxury hospitality environment. Protect the privacy, safety, and well-being of guests, members, and fellow employees. Consistently uphold The Preserve's standards of professionalism, service excellence, and hospitality. Requirements Current Rhode Island massage therapy license in good standing. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional massage therapy experience required. Previous experience in a luxury spa, resort spa, hotel spa, wellness facility, or comparable high-end environment preferred. Previous experience as a Lead Therapist, Senior Therapist, Trainer, Supervisor, or similar leadership position strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in multiple massage modalities. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, contraindications, sanitation, safety, and professional treatment practices. Knowledge of body treatments and general spa operations. Exceptional guest-service and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and positively influence fellow team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality. Ability to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced luxury environment. Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with five-star hospitality standards. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs. Commitment to a minimum of four days per week, inclusive of weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a Forbes Five-Star, Forbes Travel Guide, AAA Five-Diamond, or comparable luxury hospitality environment. Advanced certifications in specialized massage modalities. Experience training or mentoring massage therapists or other spa professionals. Experience with luxury spa protocols and elevated guest-service standards. Knowledge of professional skincare, body-care, and wellness products. Experience supporting spa operations, scheduling, inventory, or quality assurance.

From $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 45.0 per week
