Job Description

Job Summary Kinstu Aesthetics is seeking a skilled and professional Licensed Massage Therapist to provide massage therapy services in our medical spa setting in Manassas Park, Virginia. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor opportunity for a reliable therapist who wants to build a specialty-based book of business in a polished med spa environment. The ideal candidate has strong clinical judgment, excellent client care skills, and experience in both therapeutic and relaxation-focused massage. Priority will be given to therapists with advanced training or experience in post-surgical lymphatic drainage, sports massage, pain management, prenatal massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, active release-style techniques, or other specialty modalities. Responsibilities Provide professional massage therapy services within Virginia scope of practice. Perform client consultations, review health history, identify contraindications, and customize sessions based on client needs. Deliver services such as relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, pain-focused bodywork, prenatal massage, and post-surgical lymphatic drainage when appropriately trained. Maintain accurate treatment notes and communicate relevant observations to the practice team when needed. Follow high standards for cleanliness, safety, room turnover, professionalism, and client confidentiality. Educate clients on aftercare, hydration, stretching, and realistic treatment expectations. Help support a premium wellness experience that works well alongside our aesthetic and med spa services. Preferred Service Focus We are especially interested in a therapist who can help build one or more of the following service lines: Post-surgical lymphatic drainage massage Sports massage and recovery-focused bodywork Pain management and mobility-focused massage Relaxation and stress-relief massage Prenatal massage Myofascial release, trigger point therapy, or active release-style techniques Hot stone or other advanced therapeutic modalities Qualifications Current Virginia Massage Therapist license in good standing. Completion of a massage therapy education program, preferably with at least 500 hours of training. Experience with Swedish and deep tissue massage required. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and safe treatment planning. Professional liability insurance maintained by the contractor. Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a med spa or clinical wellness setting. Strong communication skills, professional boundaries, and a client-centered approach. Ability to provide references from previous employers and loyal clients. Preferred Experience Post-surgical lymphatic drainage training or certification. Sports massage, rehabilitative massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, or pain management experience. Prenatal, hot stone, or other advanced modality training. Prior experience in a medical spa, chiropractic office, wellness center, physical therapy-adjacent setting, or clinical wellness environment. Ongoing continuing education and interest in building specialty services. Schedule Flexible part-time / per diem schedule. Schedule based on treatment room availability and client demand. Weekday, evening, or weekend availability may be considered. Compensation Compensation may be structured as a commission split, flat fee per session, or another contractor arrangement agreed upon in the independent contractor agreement. This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Contractor is responsible for personal taxes, liability insurance, and any benefits customarily associated with independent contractor status.
