Job Description
Part Time to become Full Time Licensed Massage Therapist We're looking for a talented Massage Therapist to join the Beauty Barn Team! This is currently a part-time position but will be full time come August. We're a steady, unique, bohemian day spa with high demand. We're nestled between North Bellingham and Ferndale and have won Bronze for the Best of the Northwest multiple times. We have our long-time massage therapist taking her life on the road this August, our day spa is getting busier every day, and we need more healing hands on deck! We have 3 Estheticians, A Permanant Make-Up Artist and 2 Massage Therapists sharing 4 private service spaces and 1 non-private (Lash Tints, Brow Laminations, Permanent Make-up, Injections etc.) service space.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidate is a self-starter with an active WA State Massage Therapy License who specializes in Deep Tissue Massage and has experience with: Deep Tissue Massage Relaxation Massage Prenatal Massage Using Hot Stones Experience with CBD Massage Products is a plus! Experience with Shirodhara, Abhyanga, Body Treatments, Scrubs and Wraps is a plus! Experience with Reflexology, Cupping and more is a plus! Existing clientele is a plus!

Keep a clean and stocked room, leaving the space better than when you arrived. Enjoy a social media presence, posting, promoting and sharing about our business. Have familiarity with or eagerness to learn and promote our product lines quickly - Vital Body, Farmhouse Fresh, Lira Clinical, OM, Banyan Botanicals, our very own KBB products, and Jane Iredale. Selling products and promoting retail sales is an important part of our work. Be passionate about their job! Someone who knows and pays attention to client needs first and foremost, with an emphasis on body care, evaluation & education. Have a passion for deep tissue massage. Apply best practices and stay up to date with industry trends. Maintain KBB workplace culture consistent with the vision, mission and values. We strive to be our client's home away from home, providing them with a safe space to feel their most beautiful selves while still providing effective and knowledgeable skincare. Everyone belongs at Kara's Beauty Barn. Cooperate with and report to administration on any arising issues. Be willing to participate in Beauty Barn events! We love our events! Promote the other service providers within the business. We offer Facials, Permanent Makeup, Injections, Body Treatments, Spray Tans and a variety of other services and we're all on the same team. Implore trustworthiness to utilize your time to further yourself within the business when you have time in between clients. Social Media, cleaning and organizing, etc... Have the ability to focus on long term services and client retention. Membership sign-ups are a huge part of our business at KBB. It provides profit stability to you month to month as well as the opportunity to make great impact on your client's skin, mind and body concerns.
AVAILABILITY
•Immediate coverage needed on Monday's and Tuesdays somewhere between 9am-8pm, with a minimum of 6 hours/day. We currently have no summer coverage for Monday or Tuesday so all massage appointments on those days would go to you. Effective August we would love coverage M, Tu, Th, F, Sat somewhere between 9am-8pm, with a minimum of 5 hours of availability each day. We have some flexibility with hours/days but Monday, Tuesday and Saturday are non-negotiable at this time. "On-Call" for Groups/Parties/Couples Massage Requests - We book a good amount of group services here at KBB so flexibility with availability is helpful. If you have any interest in instructing couples massage workshops here, that is a plus! Our departing Massage Therapist instructed a few a year here.
PAY:
This position starts at $20/hour + Tips. You will also receive a 20% commission on your services and 15% commission on product sales.
Service Commission:
After the 90-day introductory period we will meet and look at your booking percentage and retail to service ratios and can adjust your service commission from there.
Optional hours:
We have some retail hours available if you are open to limited admin work while you are getting started here. ie laundry, answering phones, booking appointments. Please note we are appointment only. Estimated hours are not guaranteed. However, we do have a steady clientele, and you will be inheriting a large portion of our current full-time massage therapists client's since she will be leaving in August. We only have 1 other part time Massage Therapist on staff.
