Job Overview Alaska Urgent Care is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a fast-paced Urgent Care that also provides Primary and Specialty Care services. This role requires proficiency in both administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring smooth operations within the medical facility. The schedule for this position varies. Schedules are flexible. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures. Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, documenting patient information, and obtaining chief complaints. Perform in-house CLIA-waived lab tests and ECGs. Use of phlebotomy to obtain patient samples for tests ordered by Providers. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper coding for billing purposes. Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses. Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans and health maintenance. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Support urgent care operations by managing patient flow and communicating effectively with coworkers and outside facilities. Experience Must hold current certification as a Medical Assistant (CCMA, CMA, NCMA, etc.). Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical coding practices is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team are crucial for success in this role.
