Freedom Behavioral Health Solutions, a leading Behavioral Health Clinic that provides a vast range of Mental Health Services, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic team. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting clinical operations and patient care, ensuring a seamless experience for individuals seeking TMS, Spravato, and other behavioral health services. Key Responsibilities Patient Support Assist in patient intake processes, including obtaining medical history, verifying insurance information, and ensuring all required documentation is complete. Greet and check in patients while verifying demographic and insurance information. Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and other required clinical observations. Prepare patients for examinations and treatments while maintaining comfort, dignity, and confidentiality. Provide empathetic, professional assistance by addressing patient questions and concerns. Clinical Assistance Collaborate with the clinical team to prepare treatment rooms and equipment for TMS, Spravato, and other behavioral health treatments. Assist providers during examinations and procedures as directed. Administer injections in accordance with established clinical protocols. Support patients during Spravato (esketamine) treatments while monitoring patient responses under provider supervision and following all established protocols. Ensure medical equipment and supplies are properly maintained, cleaned, stocked, and inventoried. Medical Records Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA and privacy regulations. Document medical histories, medications, treatment plans, and clinical information in the electronic health record (EHR). Organize, update, and maintain medical documentation to ensure records remain current and compliant. Appointment Scheduling Coordinate patient appointments and manage scheduling logistics. Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals while maintaining efficient communication between patients and the healthcare team. Communicate appointment confirmations, instructions, and other scheduling information to patients. Insurance Coordination Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Coordinate prior authorizations for medications and treatments as needed. Process billing information and assist with insurance-related documentation and patient inquiries. Assist with billing and coding activities to support accurate claim submission. Patient Education Provide basic education regarding Spravato, TMS, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed. Provide educational materials and resources to improve patient understanding. Help patients and families understand treatment expectations and available resources. Collaborative Teamwork Work collaboratively with providers, therapists, nurses, administrative staff, and other team members to maintain an efficient clinical environment. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuing education. Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to support high-quality patient care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required (or required within the organization's established timeframe, if applicable). CPR/BLS certification required. At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably behavioral health. Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Empathy and commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
