Responsibilities:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our clinic and in ensuring a positive patient experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
Patient Care:
Greeting patients and preparing them for examinations and procedures. Taking patient histories and vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, height). Administering vaccinations as directed by the physician. Performing phlebotomy and collecting other laboratory specimens. Assisting physicians with examinations and procedures. Performing EKGs. Documenting patient information accurately and efficiently in electronic health records (EHR).
Clinical Support:
Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment. Maintaining clean and organized examination rooms and work areas. Managing inventory of medical supplies and equipment. Processing prescription refills and prior authorizations. Performing basic laboratory tests.
Administrative Tasks:
Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments. Managing patient records and ensuring confidentiality. Handling insurance inquiries and referrals. Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or registration (RMA) preferred. Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting (family practice experience a plus). Proficiency in taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing phlebotomy. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, must be able to type. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. A positive attitude, empathy, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
