POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant, Oncology, performs both administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician. Administrative responsibilities include scheduling appointments, maintaining oncology-specific medical records, processing billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical responsibilities include obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient histories, preparing patients for oncology examinations or procedures, drawing blood, handling lab specimens, and administering medications or treatments as directed by the physician. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting patients with compassion and professionalism.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant Without current certification or registration, the incumbent must have two years of medical assistant experience and be eligible to take the CMA/RMA exam within a specified time period to be determined at the time of hire.
