Job Description
Job Overview Overview We are needing to add another energetic medical assistant to our growing team. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, eager to learn, a team player, able to be adaptable and a multitasker.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certified preferred
- Language skills
- Must be proficient in typing and good at spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication. Must be able to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion. Excellent English composition skills required to generate professional, polished progress note at a high rate of production.
- Mathematical skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Reasoning ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to refer to reference materials to solve problems.
- Computer skills: Ability to quickly learn and use all functions of electronic medical record system.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe patient encounter is a plus
- Must have cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diversity
- Ability to work well with others and function well under pressure
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Room patient, obtain vital signs, patient history, medication history, and reason for seeking care. Document histories accordingly. Email/Print portal access. Obtain and record immunization record on all new patients per ADPH protocol. Perform basic triage per office protocol procedures. Process telephone messages and prescription refills. Record administration of vaccines, injections, and medications. Assist provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing healthcare: 1. Laboratory and radiology preparation 2. Proper use of Nebulizer/Aero chamber 3. Explain treatment procedures to patient as instructed by provider 4. Any additional instructions directed by provider Complete Prior-Authorization forms for medications, supplies, or equipment when necessary. Complete School Medication forms. Follow-up on lab and radiology reports. Sort correspondence from outside offices. Exam rooms, lab area, and work station should be kept stocked, clean, and organized. Maintain high level of professionalism and confidentially. Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards and guidelines. Follow Meaningful Use guidelines in respect to requirements for your position and documentation responsibilities. Willingness to perform all other job duties as assigned.Benefits:
