Job Description
Medical Assistant — Front & Back Office (Vascular Specialty Clinic) — Garden Grove We're hiring a Medical Assistant to support a new vascular and interventional radiology practice in Garden Grove, CA. This is a hands-on, full-scope role in a small office — you will be the front desk and the back office. If you want to learn vascular medicine from the ground up in a practice that is just opening, this is that job. What you'll do Greet, check in, and check out patients; manage the schedule and the phones Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; support prior authorization follow-up Room patients, take and document vital signs, prepare charts before clinic Perform ankle-brachial index (ABI) testing after training Measure and fit compression stockings; educate patients on conservative therapy Assist with wound care and dressing changes under physician direction Turn over exam rooms, stock supplies, handle instruments, maintain logs Collect patient copays and coinsurance accurately at time of service Keep accurate documentation in our EHR (Office Ally) What we're looking for Medical assistant training completed (diploma/certificate), or equivalent hands-on experience in a medical office Willingness to learn vascular and interventional medicine — we will train the specialty Comfortable doing both front desk and clinical work in the same day Reliable, organized, and calm with older patients and patients in discomfort Basic computer and EHR competence Current BLS/CPR (or willing to obtain before start) Nice to have (not required) CCMA (NHA), RMA (AMT), CMA (AAMA), or NCMA (NCCT) certification Current California CPT-1 phlebotomy license Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese Prior experience in vascular, cardiology, podiatry, wound care, or dermatology Prior authorization or insurance verification experience Schedule & pay Part-time to start, approximately 15-30 hours per week, with clinic days Monday and Thursday Hourly, non-exempt, paid bi-weekly Growing practice — hours and responsibilities expand as we add procedure days
