Full Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a safe and effective manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data collection and care appropriate to the age of the patients served, with appropriate Nursing assistant interventions and communication to patients and other care team members. The Nursing Assistant plays a key role in ensuring excellent customer satisfactions to our patients and demonstrating I-CARE values. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse requires continual communication regarding patients' conditions to the registered nurse including immediate notification of changes in patients' conditions or abnormalities. When serving as a constant observer, the Nursing Assistant maintains constant direct observation and visualization of identifies patient(s). The Nursing Assistant provides activities of daily living to patients and is responsible for providing excellent hygiene/bathing including linen changes and specific cleaning protocols for cleaning patients with central lines and urinary catheters. Assists in patients with ambulation, meals, toileting needs, and taking, recording, and reporting vital signs are additional functions of this role. Immediate attention to any patient call lights and assistance with answering phones is an expectation as well. The Nursing Assistance will report off to their registered nurses and a Nursing Assistant buddy when taking breaks and meals. There is an opportunity for the Nursing Assistant to float to any unit in the hospital to be a constant observer and any inpatient unit to perform as a Nursing Assistant or constant observer.

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System One year acute care experience. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background. Current American Heart Association Provider basic life support. Current Nursing Assistant Certificate or enrolled nursing student who has successfully completed the first semester of an RN program
