Position Summary As a Medical Assistant at our clinics, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of our facilities. This position combines clinical support (back-office) and administrative tasks (front-office) to help our care team. While primarily located in Merced, CA , the role may require occasional assistance at nearby sites for training or support. Key Responsibilities Administrative/Front-Office Duties Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in and registration. Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with billing/insurance teams as needed. Maintain patient records, perform data entry for claims/transcriptions, and track inventory/supplies. Process prescription refill requests and assist with referrals. Adhere to legal/ethical standards in all administrative tasks. Clinical/Back-Office Duties Obtain and record vital signs, review patient history/chief complaint, prepare patients for examination. Assist providers with exams, perform routine screening tests, lab specimen collection, EKGs, basic lab work. Administer medications under provider authorization, change dressings, apply bandages. Maintain and sterilize instruments, monitor supplies, ensure a safe environment. Provide patient education on medications, disease management, home care instructions, and special diets. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED (required). Certified Medical Assistant (MA) credential (preferred). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of 12 months of Non-Externs experience as a Medical Assistant (or equivalent).
