Job Description
Position Overview This is a Part Time position - 32 hours per week A successful Medical Assistant must be passionate about healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others while acting as a mission-driven catalyst to help Livingston Community Health deliver the best quality of care and excellent service to our patients and their families. The Medical Assistant (MA) reports directly to the Clinic Services Manager. The MA provides nursing assistance to multi-specialty LCH clinical providers including, but not limited to, administration of injections, assisting with procedures, taking vital signs, vision and hearing tests, patient education, and necessary EHR chart work. The Medical Assistant will assist with clerical functions and help update and maintain accurate medical records. The Medical Assistant is under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse, and direct supervision of the Clinic Servies Manager. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Provide quality customer service care with a positive attitude.
Ensure patient demographics are current and accurate at time of visit.
Obtain and document vital signs in the electronic health record:
Perform required screening tests as necessary.
Complete with accuracy via
Utilize Standing Orders to administer, order or schedule tests, medication or referrals. Administer medications and immunizations per LCH policies and procedures.
Update patient charts with accurate data: immunization history and lab results. Complete lab orders as indicated.
Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment per LCH policy and procedures. Utilize tracking system for pap smears, immunization, and breast exams. Perform procedures as ordered by provider (wound care, application of splints, airway treatment, ear lavages, EKG, NST and sterile procedures as indicated.)Ensure accurate and complete documentation in electronic health records Continuously monitor patient flow.
Prepare forms to fulfill Payer, State and Federal requirements.
Adhere to and promote clinic policies and protocols.
Review EHR and Outlook Inbox daily and address tasks within 24 hours.
Conduct daily, weekly and monthly quality controls and checksFacilitate support with daily, weekly and monthly inventory (i.e. medications, vaccines and clinic supplies.)Ensure adherence with clinic safety requirements both in practice and maintaining facilities. Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPA...

blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, Oxygen Saturation (if indicated), pain level, last menstrual period. Follow LCHs Patient Intake workflow based on type of visit.Perform required screening tests as necessary.
