We are looking for another medical assistant (pediatric immunization experience preferred) to join our team in the Orinda location. If needed, this person will float to Berkeley based on staffing needs to ensure a fluid office flow. We are seeking someone who is compassionate, upbeat, hard-working, and reliable to join our team. Our ideal candidate loves kids, is able to learn quickly, can handle a heavy workload, and effectively communicate and work well with others. experience preferred. Willing to train the right candidate. Full-time; 40 hrs/wk position Monday through Friday AND Work some Saturday clinics in Berkeley (8:30-12:30pm or later as needed). Share responsibility. This person will mostly work in the Orinda location, during the weekdays. Must be flexible and willing to work in either location to cover sick/vacation.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant I - Floater is responsible for maintaining a fluid office flow by preparing patients to be seen by the physician and making sure all supplies are available for patient visits. We have 2-3 doctors in each office scheduled to see in-person visits and/or telehealth visits. We are structured with a 1:1 ratio for MAs and doctors and need additional help on the floor. There are 3 doctors per office. Ideally, one extra person to help the MA team & their providers to stay on task and on time. You will carry out physician orders while the patient is in the office including giving vaccines, preparing specimens, running in-office tests and assisting in procedures. You are scheduled to work with your own doctor, assist with daily pre-scheduled immunization only visits, and assist with flu vaccine appointments during flu season. Other responsibilities include shared responsibilities for managing Saturday Clinics (generally between 8:30am to 12:30pm but can start earlier or end a little later depending on how many prescheduled and/or same day appointments are scheduled). Job duties are the following, but not limited to: Preparing rooms, greeting patients, preparing patients for their visit, circulating with doctor and managing their needs, administering vaccines (IM, SQ, ID), assist with incoming records, forms, urinalysis, throat & urine cultures, administering oral medication, & respiratory treatments, and molecular tests. Expectation(s): We have 3 doctors per office seeing patients all day and each doctor is paired to work with their own MA for the day. This position requires ability to "see the bigger picture". The MA I - Floater will be trained to work in both locations Training entails learning office protocols and procedures. We will also teach you how to prioritize how to help, who to help, and when to help throughout the day. Must have Medical Assistant Certification; Completed Medical Assistant Program Skills required: Clear verbal and written communication skills Good listening skills Follows policies and procedures Ability to think quickly on your feet Remains calm under pressure and is able to multitask when necessary Demonstrates skills to administer vaccines safely

Hours would be:
Ranges between 8:50 am to 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday. May be asked to cover 7:50am-4:30pm, 8:20am-5:00pm, 9:30am-6:00pm, or 10:00am-7:00pm shift when needed Scheduled to work some Saturday •alternating with the MA team. Must be flexible and willing to work in either office to cover sick/vacation.
