This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled dermatologists and surgical staff, providing exceptional patient care while gaining valuable experience in outpatient and hospital settings. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinical operations, accurate documentation, and compassionate patient interactions, all while contributing to innovative skin cancer treatments and surgical procedures. Responsibilities Assist dermatologists during Mohs micrographic surgery procedures by preparing treatment areas and managing surgical instruments Perform patient intake, including collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to monitor patient status before and after procedures Support patient care activities including medication administration, wound dressing changes, and providing pre- and post-operative instructions Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and treatment notes within EHR systems Conduct basic physiology assessments and assist with diagnostic tasks such as X-ray imaging or other outpatient testing when necessary Manage administrative duties like scheduling appointments, coordinating follow-up visits, and ensuring smooth patient flow within the clinic or hospital environment Skills Strong knowledge of dermatology practices, skin anatomy, and physiology to support specialized surgical procedures Experience in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or medical-surgical settings with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding, intake procedures, vital signs measurement, and medication administration Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient record management Ability to provide excellent patient service with compassionate communication skills across diverse populations including geriatrics and inpatient care settings Basic life support (BLS) certification required to respond effectively in emergency situations Experience with X-ray procedures or emergency medicine environments is advantageous for comprehensive support roles Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to advancing skin health through expert surgical support and compassionate patient care.
