Job Description
Shasta Orthopaedics is the leading provider of Orthopaedic and musculoskeletal services in the North State region. At Shasta Orthopaedics, we are proud of the outstanding professional opportunities we are able to offer our staff. Shasta Orthopaedics is a highly respected and innovative subspecialty musculoskeletal practice. Our beautiful medical office building was designed specifically for our use and is in a highly visible and easily accessible location in scenic Redding, California, and includes many convenient services on site including x-ray, MRI, and physical therapy. Shasta Orthopaedics is a multi-specialty group including orthopaedics, sport medicine, podiatry, chiropractic, and interventional pain management. Medical assistants are primarily assigned to one provider, but may cross-cover other areas.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Take patient medical histories and record vital signs
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records
- Provide patient education on various health topics
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
