Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant supports the daily operations with busy schedules and high patient volumes. This position involves a mix of administrative and clinical duties, requiring proficiency in medical terminology and the flexibility to travel to various clinic locations. Non-Exempt Full Time, On-Site (remote work not available) Work Schedule Assigned schedule will vary with hours: Monday - Saturday 8:00AM - 8:00PM Overtime may be required Reporting Employee will report to the
Office Manager and Regional Manager Key Responsibilities Clinical Support:
Assist providers and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments Prepare examination rooms, and ensure cleanliness and supply availability Maintain an organized, and well-stocked lab Obtain and record vital signs and patient histories (e.g., height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) Perform diagnostic tests:
UA, EKG, TB
skin tests, immunizations, pap smear assistance, throat cultures Conduct COVID testing, blood draws, administer injections, and medications as directed per provider Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care. Maintain and update required clinical logs (e.g., refrigerator/freezer temps, oxygen) Assist with Spanish clients during examination and throughout appointment
Administrative Duties:
Schedule appointments, procedures, and follow-ups. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records Manage patient check-in/check-out; verify insurance, process referrals, and collect co-pays Handle phone calls, triage inquires, and relay messages to appropriate healthcare providers. Taking messages from patients, scanning, uploading, and downloading documents. Ensure compliant with all regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality May be asked to assist with front desk duties as needed. Qualifications:
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of Medical Assistant program required
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an internal medicine or similar clinical setting Front or Back office required
Certifications :
Active CPR and BLS Certification Veni-puncture certificate preferred
Skills and Competencies:
Medical Knowledge:
Proficiency in medical terminology, internal medicine procedures, and pharmacology
Technical Skills:
Ability to operate medical equipment, perform routine lab tests, and use EHR systems effectively Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
Other:
Must maintain a professional appearance along with friendly, cooperative, caring, and clam behavior.
Travel :
Mileage reimbursement eligible. Must maintain active auto insurance. Travel to various clinic locations as needed to provide coverage and support. Ensure timely arrival at different sites and proper setup for clinical operations

In-office only; remote work is not available
Dress Code:
All employees are required to report to work neatly groomed and dressed. This includes wearing scrubs or protective safety clothing and equipment, depending upon the job. Closed-toed shoes must be worn; facial piercings are not permitted, and tattoos must be covered.
Benefits:
Medical, Dental, and Vision:
Available to full-time employees after 30 days of employment. PPO and HMO options are available. (employer's premiums contributions may change with notice) 401(K): Eligibility for participation in the company's 401(k) plan, with employer matching based on plan terms and eligibility (Pending eligibility requirements) Life Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO): May be eligible for PTO based on company policy, provided a minimum of 72 hours is worked per pay period. PTO must be used during employment; unused PTO is paid upon separation per California law
Sick Time:
Provided annually per California Law; front loaded each January 1 with no carryover.
