Job Description

This position provides medical, technical, and administrative support services to contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations providing positive patient experiences. Clinical duties may include escorting patients to exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, assist in procedures, prepare & administer medications and vaccines, laboratory/specimen collection/processing, address quality care gaps and other duties as directed by provider. Provides administrative support to the providers and interacts with patients by scheduling patient appointments in tandem with the provider availability, interacts with patients in person and on the phone, assigned to Contact Center to address patient calls, greets patient at check-in, collects patient information, updates/maintains electronic records, handles visit payments, ensures the exam room has needed inventory for operation, and performs clinic administrative tasks. Secure authorizations for medications. This position will be primarily assigned to a work location; but may also float as needed to various UCR Health clinic locations. This position may require you to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Please Note:
Per diem appointees may be scheduled on a pre-scheduled basis or as needed on a day-to-day basis or called off from a pre-established schedule as determined by the University and clinical operation needs. The full salary range for this position is $31.57 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. degree Medical Assistant Diploma. Required experience A minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience. Required Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) required Required Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment. Must demonstrate customer / patient service skills appropriate to the job. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients of varying ages and multicultural backgrounds. Strong interpersonal skills. Understanding of medical terminology. Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Familiarity with universal precautions, handling of bio-hazardous waste, specimen identification and transport. Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment. Required
