Job Description Looking for medical assistant (bilingual preferred): We have patients who speak Farsi, Mandarin & Korean, someone fluent in any of these languages would be ideal.
DETAILS:
Looking for someone who can be cross-trained in both front and back office. Medical Front/Back office experience, Detail oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES
Answering heavy phone calls, scheduling, Filing, Charting, verifying scheduled appointment visits, authorization submission, Follow ups etc. This position is responsible for handling patients in both the front and back office scenarios.
Front Office:
Confirmation that valid insurance coverage exists, that a referral is authorized for specialty visits. Scheduling and confirming appointments, etc.
Back Office:
Blood Draw, EKG, taking vital signs, Administering injections, in office procedures, Breathing treatments, PFT tests, Casting, Suture and staple removal etc.
Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills including excellent interpersonal and telephone skills. High degree of tact is necessary due to frequent interaction with patients, physicians, and insurance companies. Advises parents and families on insurance coverage, authorization, billing issues. Obtains detailed patient insurance benefit verification and authorization for all Medical along with maximum benefit restrictions. Thorough knowledge and understanding of health care delivery systems with special emphasis on the pre-certification/authorization, insurance verification process. Thorough understanding of Medicare and Medicaid programs with the ability to identify primary payers. Ability to perform accurate data entry with basic word-processing skills. Minimum one to two years experience of Front/Back Office experience with a private physician's office practice setting preferred. EMR Experience Ability to multitask Travel between 2 locations (Santa Ana and Laguna Hills) Team player Eager to work and learn
