Job Summary Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Responsibilities Check patients in for their visits, running insurance, and collecting copays Schedule appointments or answer necessary questions during phone calls Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing Administer medications and vaccines via inter-muscular injections Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations Maintain complete and accurate documentation Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Two-year college or technical school for Medical Assistant; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Medical Assistants are preferred. Must be willing and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
