Certified Medical Assistant -
Job Description Position Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting physicians and healthcare providers with patient care, administrative duties, and clinical procedures in a medical office or healthcare facility. The CMA ensures efficient patient flow while providing professional and compassionate care to patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other health information Assist physicians during examinations and treatments Administer injections, medications, and immunizations as directed by the provider Perform basic laboratory procedures and specimen collection Schedule patient appointments and maintain medical records Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries professionally Verify insurance information and process patient paperwork Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and supplies Follow all HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures Provide excellent customer service and patient care
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required High school diploma or equivalent required Medical Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office preferred; new graduates are welcome Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems Strong communication and organizational skills Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred (optional) Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment CPR certification preferred (optional) Training of position will be fully provided; with verbal and hands-on instructions
Work Environment:
Medical office May require standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds
Pay:
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
License/Certification:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (Required)
