Job Description
About the practice Tarantino Medical Group is a solo Direct Primary Care practice in Walnut Creek. We left insurance in January 2026 and practice on a membership model: a small panel (around 125 patients), long unhurried visits, and a focus on comprehensive, preventive, evidence-based care. This is not a high-volume, chaotic clinic. It is calm, detail-driven, and personal. The role You are the one MA in the practice, working one-on-one with Dr Tara Tarantino, a physician passionate about patient care and preventative medicine. You room patients, take vitals and history, keep the office clean and stocked, help patients feel cared for, and keep the day running smoothly. Because we do not bill insurance, there are no insurance verifications, no billing headaches, and rare prior authorizations. A virtual assistant handles most phones and scheduling so you can focus on patients and the office. What you'll do Room patients, take and record vitals, gather history Give vaccines and perform EKGs Assist with simple procedures (e.g. Nexplanon placement and removal) Handle urine and Pap samples and in-office testing (urine, flu, covid-19) Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and ready for each patient Run regular inventory checks and flag anything low or expiring Check patients in, schedule, scan, fax, assist with charting and ordering Anticipate needs and keep the physician on schedule What we expect Initiative on the little things. We can train. Comfortable learning an EMR (we use Elation) Details 4 days per week, in office,
