Job Description

About Us BioFunctional Health Solutions is not your average medical office — and we are not looking for an average Medical Assistant. We are a functional, integrative, and regenerative medicine clinic focused on helping patients heal, move better, feel better, and get to the root of health challenges. Our office offers advanced therapies such as extracorporeal shock wave therapy, photobiomodulation/red light therapy, hydrogen therapy, regenerative wellness support, functional health coaching, and other cutting-edge approaches. We are looking for a sharp, dependable, health-minded Medical Assistant who loves people, works hard, learns quickly, and can bring both professionalism and warmth into the patient experience. Bonus points if you love wellness, enjoy learning new therapies, and believe that "because that's how we've always done it" is not a good enough reason to stop improving. The Role This position is ideal for someone who is clinically competent, emotionally intelligent, and excited to be part of a growing, mission-driven practice. You will support patient care, assist with treatments, perform phlebotomy, help keep the clinic flowing smoothly, and eventually operate certain patient therapies independently after training. We need someone who can be trusted to follow protocols, think ahead, stay organized, and care about doing excellent work — even when nobody is standing over their shoulder.
In other words:
we want someone who can keep the train moving, not someone who needs to be pushed onto the train.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Welcoming patients and creating a warm, professional, reassuring experience Taking vitals and documenting patient information accurately Performing blood draws/phlebotomy confidently and competently Preparing patients for treatments and procedures Assisting with functional, regenerative, and wellness-based therapies Learning to operate clinic equipment and treatment protocols safely Supporting treatments such as shock wave therapy, red light/photobiomodulation, hydrogen therapy, and other services as trained Cleaning, resetting, and maintaining treatment rooms Maintaining supplies, lab materials, and clinical organization Following safety, HIPAA, infection-control, and clinic protocols Communicating clearly with providers, patients, and team members Helping with front-office flow as needed, including scheduling or patient communication Being proactive — noticing what needs to be done and doing it Required Qualifications The ideal candidate must have: Medical Assistant training, certification, or equivalent clinical experience Strong, confident phlebotomy skills Excellent patient communication skills A warm, friendly, professional presence Strong attention to detail Ability to follow clinical protocols carefully Comfort learning new technology, equipment, and treatment methods Ability to work independently once trained Strong work ethic and reliability A genuine interest in health, wellness, functional medicine, regenerative medicine, or holistic patient care A team-first attitude with the ability to jump in wherever needed Preferred Qualifications We would love it if you have experience with: Functional medicine, integrative medicine, regenerative medicine, chiropractic, physical therapy, wellness, or longevity clinics Lab draws, specimen handling, and lab kit preparation Patient education or health coaching EMR systems Front desk or scheduling support Cash-pay, concierge, or boutique healthcare settings A personal passion for healthy living, fitness, nutrition, movement, or wellness Who Will Thrive Here You may be a great fit if you: Take your own health seriously and enjoy being around others who do too Are energetic, dependable, and self-motivated Like learning new things and are not intimidated by new therapies or equipment Can work independently after training Are kind, calm, and confident with patients Have excellent follow-through Like being part of a small but mighty team Prefer meaningful work over clock-watching Can laugh a little, hustle a lot, and still keep things professional Who This Job Is NOT For This role is probably NOT the right fit if you: Need constant supervision to stay on task Are uncomfortable with blood draws Do not enjoy patient interaction Resist learning new approaches Prefer a slow-paced, highly repetitive job Are frequently late, disorganized, or "allergic" to initiative Think wellness is just drinking water once a week and hoping for the best We say that with love. Why Join BioFunctional Health Solutions? At BioFunctional Health Solutions, you will have the opportunity to be part of a growing practice that is doing meaningful work. You will learn therapies and approaches that are not offered in most traditional medical offices, and you will work with patients who are actively seeking better health and healing. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow clinically, learn functional and regenerative medicine, and become a trusted part of a patient-centered team. Schedule Schedule to be discussed based on candidate availability and clinic needs. Pay $22-$26/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with exceptional phlebotomy skills, strong clinical experience, excellent patient communication, and the ability to work independently after training. How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief note telling us why you are interested in working in a functional and regenerative medicine clinic. Bonus points if your note sounds like a real human wrote it.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour Application Question(s): Why are you interested in working in a functional, regenerative, and wellness-focused medical office rather than a traditional medical office? If there is a quiet moment between patients, what would you naturally do? Our clinic is small, busy, wellness-focused, and growing. We need someone who can be kind, sharp, proactive, and not afraid to jump in. In one or two sentences, why would you be a great fit for our team? Please describe your phlebotomy experience, including how often you perform blood draws and what types of patients you have worked with. This role is in a functional, regenerative, and wellness-focused clinic. Please share with us your view and how you personally value health, wellness, movement, nutrition, and living a healthy lifestyle.
