This is a
Full-Time Position Compensation Range:
$18.86 to $27.60
Non-Exempt Position Benefits:

    N/A Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
    • Shows patients to the examination room and prepares them for the provider.
    • Records patients' past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation.
    • Maintains compliance within the department and clinic, as well as within state and federal regulations and policies.
    • Working knowledge of phone: answers, greets, and directs by phone. Takes messages and documents in the patient's record.
    • Cares for instruments, i.e., cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing (where sterilization equipment is available).
    • Participates in mandatory in-services and attends staff meetings.
    • Follows policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness and participates in drills.
    • Respects the confidentiality of patient records and uses complete discretion when discussing patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
    • Utilizes all department forms and documents in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) appropriately.
    • Identifies victims and the process for reporting abuse.
    • Collects, labels, and transports all specimens appropriately.
    • Demonstrates proper techniques when setting up for procedures.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and routine equipment and procedures.
    • Collaborates with patient care planning. Actively participates in education specific to patient diagnosis and needs.
    • Assists providers with special tests and procedures.
    • Acts as a resource person to other staff members.
    • Maintains a positive and supportive behavior towards team members, staff members, and other departments within the organization.
    • Participates in process improvement teams or in interdepartmental efforts.
    • Assesses every patient for safety, medication dosage appropriateness, and other needs.
    • Acts as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and staff.
    • Completes workload as assigned.
    • Administers medication and performs treatment in accordance with standards of care. Translates medications into pediatric doses and uses proper equipment for the patient's size and age.
    • Floats to other clinical departments as assigned.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication, fostering positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors.
    • Adheres to the MRH attire and dress code in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
    • Exhibits initiative and self-motivation; maintains a consistent level of productivity and manages time and responsibilities effectively.
    • Completes all required annual education, training, in-services, and licensure/certification updates; actively participates in departmental and organizational meetings or reviews meeting minutes as required.
    • Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
    • Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
    • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
    • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must successfully pass a background check.
    • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
    • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
    EDUCATION, LICENSURE
    (S), AND
    CERTIFICATION
    (S) Required Preferred ☒ ☐ Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Course. ☒ ☐ Must be Certified or Registered. ☒ ☐ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
    EXPERIENCE
    Required Preferred ☐ ☒ One (1) year experience with patients in a clinic setting.
