As a Medical Assistant in this respected healthcare setting, you will be the frontline support for both administrative and clinical functions. You'll greet and room patients with professionalism and warmth, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your clinical expertise will be vital as you take vital signs, draw blood, administer vaccines, and assist with other clinical procedures. You'll also handle scheduling, manage phone inquiries, and maintain detailed electronic medical records. Building strong, collaborative relationships with staff and patients alike is key to providing exceptional care and contributing to overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and book patients, ensuring a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse Draw blood and perform venipuncture with accuracy and care Administer vaccines and other clinical treatments per protocol Support clinical staff with various procedures and clinical documentation Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow efficiently Maintain and update electronic medical records with precision Assist with fee collection and health center operations as needed
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience, including externship work Medical Assistant Certification highly preferred Experience in occupational health environments strongly desired Proficiency in phlebotomy/venipuncture techniques Familiarity with electronic medical records systems Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Knowledge of health screening, immunization protocols, and basic clinic workflows Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience with health education and outreach programs Participation in specialized primary care or patient engagement initiatives Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification highly recommended At least one year of clinical medical assistant experience in a healthcare setting Prior occupational health experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Availability to work a consistent schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (lunch 12-12:30) and Tuesday/Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (lunch 12-12:30) Ability to work in a fast-paced, community-focused clinical environment Licensure or certifications relevant to clinical duties and immunizations Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform clinical tasks Willingness to adapt to changing schedules or coverage needs during specified months This position offers a rewarding opportunity to grow within a forward-thinking healthcare organization dedicated to total population health management and patient safety.
