Job Summary and Responsibilities Join Our Primary Care Team as a Certified Medical Assistant in Woodland Park! At CommonSpirit, Certified Medical Assistants are essential to delivering comprehensive, whole-person care to our patients right within their community. In partnership with clinic staff and operations, our MAs collaboratively created a structured approach for a more effective, efficient workday, ensuring appropriate workloads and a clearer path for professional development. We're also proud to have established one of the first-ever MA Apprenticeship programs with an accredited local college, actively educating and preparing future primary care MAs for success. This position plays a vital, supportive role in our primary care clinic, with responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family. You will be instrumental in identifying and meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our diverse patient population. You'll promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the delegation of medical services as defined by the State Medical Practice Act. What You'll Do in
Our Primary Care Clinic:
Perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider, including but not limited to: taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with minor procedures, administering medications (as delegated), performing phlebotomy, and conducting point-of-care testing. Assist with front office duties, including patient check-in/out, scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and handling patient inquiries. Accurately document patient information, symptoms, and care provided in electronic health records (EHR) to ensure comprehensive medical record maintenance. Collaborate closely with primary care providers (Physicians, NPs, PAs) to ensure seamless patient flow and effective communication surrounding patient care plans. Participate in patient education, explaining treatment plans, medication instructions, and preventive health measures. Attend/conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth, enhancing your skills within the primary care setting. Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, upholding the organizational mission, and core values that are fundamental to our patient-centered approach.
In Colorado Only:
Pay Ranges Begin at $20.00 for Non-Certified Medical Assistants and $21.25 for Certified Medical Assistants.
Required Qualifications:
This position requires certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following recognized certifying bodies: American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA) American Medical Technologist (AMT) National Healthcare Association (NHA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

E.D., required Medical Assistant certification or registration from approved organization, required Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association, required 1 year of Primary Care Experience preferred Epic EMR Experience preferred Phlebotomy Experience preferred Physical Requirements
