Full Time and Monday-Friday Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a fast-paced surgical practice. This role involves a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities, including chart documentation and patient care.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Escorts patients from waiting room to examination rooms. Provides patients with appropriate examination apparel. Manage and track patient flow through the office. Documents all necessary patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) including but not limited to; vital signs, current medications, allergies, PCP and pharmacy, etc. Triage phone calls, messages, and prescription refill requests. Performs clinical tasks such as dressing changes, wound care, and suture/staple removal as needed. Records and updates information in patient record as needed for compliance. Performs efficient and clean turnover of exam rooms and equipment. Performs clerical work associated with patient care, prepares and organizes patient charts for assigned providers. Monitor and order inventory of exam room supplies needed in order to run the patient rooms. Maintains consistent office safety adhering to OSHA guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned by a Manager or other authorized TVE executive. Qualifications Incumbent must possess a minimum of a high school diploma, (or GED) and two (2) years of prior experience is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft, data entry and other business office system is preferred. CMA/RMA preferred. Skills Medical Assistants must consistently demonstrate superior customer service, interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with physicians, staff, visitors, patients and family members. Must be highly organized with exceptional attention to details. Incumbent must be able to travel to multiple office locations if requested.
