Women's Health Certified Medical Assistant/Receptionist Non-Exempt, Part time
Position Department:
Women's Health Community Health Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced certified Medical Assistant/Receptionist for a Full-Time opportunity in our Women's Health Department. The incumbent will work 50% of the time as a Medical Assistant, and 50% of the time as a receptionist, and will report to the Practice Manager. Since 1970, Community Health Services has existed to provide comprehensive health care services to the struggling residents of Hartford and Windsor. We were made for the community, by the community, to offer a full spectrum of services to include medical, behavioral health care, dental care, a full-service pharmacy and more. Our goal is to offer our patients a medical home; a place where they can come for all of their needs; a place where the clinical staff know them by their first name. Our dedicated staff demonstrate the good we can do on a daily basis when we provide quality care with dignity to each and every individual. We want to help our patients get all of the health care they need -- when they need it -- so they may too live a healthier and happier life.
MA Responsibilities:
Recently graduated Medical Assistants are encouraged to apply! Provide care in collaboration with department physicians, and physician assistant. Assist providers with patient preparations and procedures as needed. Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the medical chart in a timely manner Coordinate patient care with team members, other departments, and community agencies as necessary Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and CHS committees. Adhere to all CHS' policies and procedures regarding documentation of medication and information provided to patients.
Receptionist Responsibilities:
Manage phone calls Schedule appointments Provide excellent customer service Ensure patient information is accurate in the electronic health record The successful candidate will: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program Possess a national medical assistant certification from a qualifying certifying body (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT) Possess a CPR certification at the healthcare provider level or be eligible to obtain certification within 90 days of hire Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook All candidates for employment at CHS must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
