Job Description

Certified Medical Assistant for an OBGYN practice must work well with others and have prior experience. -- Under the supervision of the Practice Manager or designee, perform specific duties to support a busy OBGYN practice in Milford CT . Typical day is 20-30 patients per day.
Essential Duties of the position:
Provides superior patient care Basic understanding of medical terms Escorts patients and visitors Able to transcribe office encounters between physician and patient Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment Prepares patients for examinations Measures and records vital signs Retrieves laboratory test results and patient files Collects specimens Prepares exam rooms, select and lays out medical supplies Maintains medical equipment Orders and maintains inventory of supplies Performs clerical functions related to medical activities as assigned Supports providers and other personnel as assigned Assists in training of new staff Ensures confidentiality and the integrity of patient information in accordance with HIPPA guidelines Front office duties such as managing phone calls, scheduling, and collecting copayments Other related duties as assigned
Required Educations, Experience and Skills:
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant OB-GYN Experience Athena experience preferred Strong attention to detail/Very good listener Superior customer service skills Must be able to multi-task Current CPR certification required Communicates professionally, effectively and accurately Excellent time management skills 1-2 years in a robust medical practice preferred
