Job Description

Job Summary The Medical Assistant (Administrative- Patient Support & Forms) supports patients and providers by managing non-clinical administrative needs, with a strong focus on disability paperwork and patient documentation. This role handles a high volume of patient communication related to referrals, work notes, handicap placards, and disability forms, including short-term disability and
CT PFMLA.
The position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working independently, and frequent coordination with providers to ensure paperwork is accurate, complete, and submitted on time. Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming patient calls regarding non-medical questions such as referral status, work notes, disability paperwork, and handicap placards
  • Complete and manage all patient disability documentation, including short-term disability, CT PFMLA, and work status forms
  • Track, process, and follow up on forms to ensure deadlines are met and information is accurate
  • Communicate with providers and clinical staff as needed to obtain required details or approvals for paperwork
  • Document all interactions and updates accurately in the EMR system Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a medical administrative or medical assistant role
  • Strong working knowledge of EMR systems and comfort navigating patient records
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow processes and meet deadlines
Pay:
$21.00 - $27.00 per hour
