Part-time Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities:

• Perform basic clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, collecting patient history, and preparing patients for examinations
• Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic procedures
• Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive measures
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Assist with medical coding and billing processes
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and ensure efficient clinic operations
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort

Skills:

• Proficiency in medication administration and dosage calculations
• Strong patient service skills, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism
• Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and ability to respond to medical emergencies
• Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Familiarity with medical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT)
• Ability to perform X-rays (if applicable to the role)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is highly desirable
