Established in 1974, Nephrology Associates, P.A. is a single-specialty practice focusing on the care of patients with kidney disease and hypertension. Our Values are Provider/Staff Well-Being, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Innovation. Nephrology Associates, P.A. is hiring a Medical Assistant to work in our Milford, DE office. This position also provides coverage as needed to our Lewes and Dover, DE offices. We offer mileage reimbursement and a generous benefit package including a robust PTO benefit...2 weeks your first year (prorated based on your hire date and the number of hours you work). Full-time, 40- hour per week position The working hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one hour lunch period. 8:00am-4:30pm on Friday with a half-hour lunch period. Position Summary The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensures efficient coordination of patient visits. This role works closely with our physicians, nurses, and office staff to support patient needs, perform clinical tasks, and manage administrative duties. The Medical Assistant is preferred be a Certified Medical Assistant with a strong understanding of medical terminology, EMR, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and professional environment for our patients. Key Responsibilities To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Greet patients and take them to exam rooms, record vital signs (including a manual BP) and complete the EMR encounter according to visit protocol. Update patient documentation including medication list, patient phone calls, etc. Prepare charts for office visits and obtain pertinent medical records prior to time of visit. Labs - chart labs, review for critical values, and notify attending physician as needed. Schedule and administer injections (EPO, Hep B). Keep exam rooms and lab area clean, neat and well stocked. Assist patients, physicians, and advanced practitioners to ensure efficient and effective care. Assist the front desk and triage as needed with phone calls, scheduling labs, diagnostic studies, clinical visits and appointments. Work consistently with HIPPA and OSHA regulations.
