Certified Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support a busy Gastroenterology practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a provider-focused environment. This role requires someone who is receptive to feedback, comfortable with direct communication and coaching, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Schedule Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Key Responsibilities Triage and respond to clinic calls in a timely and professional manner. Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs. Prepare patients for provider visits and ensure exam rooms are appropriately prepared. Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming clinic days. Maintain accurate and organized medical records, including paper charting as preferred by the provider. Assist the provider with day-to-day clinical and administrative needs. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members. Follow established clinical procedures, safety standards, and HIPAA requirements. Accept and apply feedback and coaching to continuously improve performance. Adapt quickly to workflow changes and shifting priorities. Qualifications 2+ years of previous Medical Assistant experience required. Gastroenterology or other specialty-clinic experience preferred. Prior authorization experience is a plus. Experience with Epic EMR preferred. Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the provider and healthcare team. Comfortable receiving direct feedback and coaching. Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
