We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, able to integrate quickly with minimal training as well as being a competent, conscientious, service-oriented individual with a strong character to work in one of our gastroenterology medical offices in Tampa Bay. They will work under the direction of the division practice manager. Key Responsibilities . Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations as directed by physician and within CMA/State of Florida scope Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW) Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows Maintains inventory and equipment Maintains a hygienic and organized area

Minimum Requirements:

Must be certified medical assistant. High school graduate with 2 year of medical office experience utilizing EMR/practice management systems. Preference may be given to candidates meeting minimum requirements who have work experience from employers that emphasize excellent customer service (e.g. Publix, Disney, Chick-fil-A).
