This role combines hands-on patient care in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with involvement in clinical workflow, team coordination, and practice operations. Above all, we are looking for someone with a growth mindset ; proactive, dependable, eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and excited to take ownership. This position can grow into a larger clinical leadership/operations role or serve as a meaningful pre-PA/pre-med gap-year experience with substantial clinical and leadership exposure. Qualifications Proficient in English and Spanish Dermatology medical assistant experience, or equivalent, strongly preferred! Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail Dependable, adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable taking initiative Professional and discreet with protected health information Prior supervisory experience is not required. Growth mindset and leadership potential are more important!! Key Responsibilities Room patients, obtain histories, review charts, and support provider workflow Assist with biopsies, excisions, wound care, suture removal, cosmetic procedures, and other dermatologic treatments Prepare rooms and instruments; process specimens; autoclave and maintain infection-control standards Provide patient education and follow-up; answer and return patient calls Coordinate prescriptions, referrals, outside records, and prior authorizations Maintain organized, stocked, patient-ready clinical spaces Identify problems, take initiative, and help implement practical solutions Growth Opportunity This role is designed to grow with the individual. A long-term team member may take on increasing responsibility for staff coordination, training, workflow oversight, inventory, quality control, and clinical operations . For pre-PA/pre-med candidates , the role provides hands-on dermatology experience while developing skills in patient care, teamwork, problem-solving, operations, and leadership that can become a meaningful part of their professional-school journey.
