Role:
This role is integral to patient care and practice efficiency, bridging clinical and administrative tasks to ensure seamless patient flow and exceptional service. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians and medical staff, utilizing a high degree of precision, communication, and empathy.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Support:
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including taking and recording vital signs, obtaining medical histories, room sanitation, chart prep, and assisting in procedures.
Phlebotomy & IV Therapy:
Perform venipuncture and other blood collection techniques with precision, ensuring proper labeling and handling of specimens. Assist with IV therapy procedures, which may include starting IV lines and monitoring patient comfort and site integrity, within the scope of practice and state regulations.
Patient Care:
Assist physicians during minor procedures and examinations. Provide patients with clear educational instructions on medications, treatment plans, and post-visit care.
EHR Management:
Accurately document all patient interactions, vital signs, test results, and other relevant information in the EHR system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule patient appointments, manage patient flow, answer phones, and handle insurance/billing paperwork as required.
Inventory & Maintenance:
Monitor and manage medical supplies inventory, restock examination rooms, and maintain a clean, sterile, and safe clinical environment, following strict infection control protocols.
Qualifications and Skills Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Licensed Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in EHR systems and other medical software. Expertise in venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures. IV training and demonstrated experience starting and managing IVs. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures. Ability to administer injections/medications as directed.
