The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient appointments and ensuring efficient scheduling processes within our medical facility. This position requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to provide exceptional patient service in a fast-paced environment. Person will assist the current surgical coordinator. Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently for various departments, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, Urgent Care, Dermatology, and PICU. Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) systems. Verify patient insurance information and eligibility prior to appointments. Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, cancellations, and rescheduling. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize scheduling based on clinical needs and patient flow. Ensure compliance with medical administrative support protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Assist in managing follow-up appointments and reminders for patients. Provide support during peak times to ensure smooth operations within the scheduling department. Requirements Proven experience in medical scheduling or administrative support within a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology related to various specialties, including trauma care and urgent care. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with diverse populations. Proficiency in using EHR systems and other scheduling software. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
