Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our medical facility, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care processes, and familiarity with various medical specialties including pediatrics, urgent care, and internal medicine. Must be a bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency. Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens
- Record patient information, medical history, and vital signs accurately
- Provide patient education and answer questions regarding treatment plans Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization
- Assist with medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments using Electronic Medical Records, managing patient records, and coding
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred- Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding systems
- Strong knowledge of physiology and basic life support techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a required skill:
- Medication administration: Ability to administer medications accurately and safely under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Physiology knowledge: Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Patient service: Ability to provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Patient care: Skilled in providing basic patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, and collecting specimens.
Coding:
Familiarity with medical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT) for accurate documentation and billing purposes.- Medical administrative support : Proficient in performing various administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and verifying insurance information.
- Ability to administer medications and assist patients with medical devices.
- Basic life support: Certification in basic life support (BLS) techniques, including CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) usage.
- Vital signs Skills Proficient in medical administrative support with experience in clinic settings.
