Education:
Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES -accredited medical assistant program, or Completion of a formal medical services training program of the U.S. Armed Forces Certification (in addition to current BLS): Certified Medical Assistant by one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the past 3 years as a CMA in a family practice or primary care outpatient setting Immunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain): Hepatitis B (series and titer) Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Varicella (Chickenpox) TB (Tuberculosis) test Seasonal Influenza vaccine

vaccine (if applicable) Core Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Prepare and retrieve medical records in accordance with clinic procedures Assist providers during patient examinations and transport patients as needed Administer medications under provider supervision Support clinical operations by checking charts for signatures and diagnosis Collect, prepare, and process lab specimens and results Perform and assist with basic lab tests, EKGs, blood draws, and IV setups Educate patients on medications and administer immunizations per MTF guidelines Operate medical equipment such as: Automatic Blood Pressure Monitors EKG Machines (12-lead) Tympanometers Handheld Nebulizers Electronic Thermometers IV Infusion Pumps (set-up only) Answer phones, take accurate messages, and coordinate with other departments Maintain equipment safety and participate in inventory procedures Provide patient follow-up communications regarding labs and test results Why Join USGP?
