This hybrid role is ideal for a candidate who is organized, patient‑focused, and comfortable working across multiple ASC workflows. Position Summary This position serves as both the first point of contact for patients and families and an essential member of the clinical care team . The Medical Assistant will manage front desk operations while also assisting nurses and anesthesia providers with patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery tasks. Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Administrative Duties Greet patients and families, manage check‑in, verify demographics and insurance Prepare daily surgical charts, consents, and pre‑op documentation Manage scheduling, appointment confirmations, and procedure coordination Answer phones, route calls, and maintain organized front office communication Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain a survey‑ready reception area Pre‑Operative Support Assist with patient intake, including vitals, medication reconciliation, and allergy verification Prepare patients for surgery following ASC protocols Communicate patient readiness to pre‑op, anesthesia, and OR teams Support workflow to maintain on‑time starts and efficient throughput Post‑Operative (PACU/Recovery) Support Assist nursing staff with patient monitoring and comfort measures Provide support during discharge, including reviewing instructions and coordinating follow‑up calls Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of recovery bays Document patient interactions and support tasks in the EMR Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA/RMA) but not required Prior experience in an ASC, surgical practice, or outpatient clinical setting strongly preferred Strong understanding of HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and clinical documentation Ability to multitask and transition between front office and clinical duties Excellent communication, professionalism, and patient‑service skills EMR proficiency; experience with scheduling systems and pre‑op/PACU workflows CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days Schedule & Compensation Full‑time, Monday-Friday (no nights, weekends, or major holidays) Competitive pay based on experience Benefits package may include health, dental, vision, PTO, and retirement options
