We are a established Ob/Gyn office in Miami Lakes looking to fill a Medical assistant position. We are looking for a well rounded, nice and respectful team player, Bilingual is a must. (English, Spanish) Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am Full time position
Experience:
One year Medical experience. GYN experience preferred but not required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
(This list may not include all of the duties that may be assigned.)- Manage patient care through an electronic or paper environment.
- Scan Results and medical records into the patient's chart.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, blood pressure.
- Check to make sure that patient history is complete (allergy to medications, health record updates, etc...).
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Assist doctors in any necessary procedures.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Fill out any necessary paper work for patient's i.e. (school forms, medication forms).
- Call hospitals to obtain any necessary results i.e. (lab and x-ray results).
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, and physicians' instructions to patients
- Keeping a clean, safe and organized work environment for patients and staff.
- Working as a team with nursing and front office staff for optimal patient care.
- Having the knowledge and awareness of medications and supplies.
- Answering medical line phone calls.
- Help front office with phones when needed.
- Follow any OSHA and Safety requirements for rooms and documentation.
- Other various duties as assigned, including cross training in other functional areas.
Skills & Requirements Licensure :
Must have aMedical Assistant Diploma/Certification Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.- Great benefits, great office, great atmosphere.
