The ideal candidate will support patient care across various medical specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. This role involves providing essential clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EHR systems, medical terminology, and patient service is highly valued. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in assisting physicians and nurses with patient intake, vital signs, medication administration, and other clinical tasks. A strong background in anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and emergency medicine is preferred to effectively support inpatient, outpatient, and trauma center operations. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and documenting symptoms accurately Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature Assist with medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation Support clinical procedures including X-ray preparation, basic laboratory tests, and wound care Maintain accurate documentation using EHR systems while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations Assist with ICD coding for diagnoses to support billing and record-keeping processes Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication use, and post-procedure care Support physicians during examinations in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine Prepare exam rooms for patient visits by ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings Adhere to safety protocols in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma environments as required Support hospital medicine units like PICU or Geriatrics by assisting with specialized patient needs Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital settings; clinic experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and pharmacology Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or OR experience are a plus Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and scheduling purposes Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or emergency departments Experience supporting diverse specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, Geriatrics, or medical-surgical units Ability to handle multiple responsibilities including intake procedures, vital signs collection, medication administration, and assisting during procedures like X-ray or wound care Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient health outcomes across various clinical settings while working within a supportive healthcare team committed to excellence.
