JOB TITLE
: Front Desk Assistant
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
: Performing check-in procedures Greeting patients in a timely and friendly manner Maintaining current demographic and insurance information in computer and in the chart Create new patient charts. Performing office opening procedures, petty cash balancing, co-pay/co-insurance collection, and assisting patients as needed Inform patients of cost of care being given Primary focus is servicing patients in the lobby with backup for phones and other front office personnel Processing, tracking, and coordinating medical records requests, ensuring timely completion and compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
: High School Diploma, with 1-2 years experience in healthcare background Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures Knowledge of computer systems, programs Knowledge of medical terminology Must be able to multi - task Must be able to express compassion and kindness to patients calling and being seen in the office Must maintain a professional and upbeat attitude Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations Ability to work with effectively with medical staff, Management, authorizations, external agencies and patients Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment Normal busy office environment with much patient contact
