Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our pediatric office. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to ensure a positive experience for our young patients and their families. This role requires strong communication skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Pediatric experience preferred. Key Responsibilities Greet and prepare pediatric patients for examination, including measuring vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with physical exams. Administer immunizations, medications, and other treatments as directed by the provider, following all safety protocols. Collect and process laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine, throat swabs) and perform basic laboratory tests. Assist with minor procedures and provide support during medical emergencies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and proper care techniques. Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate referrals as needed. Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each patient visit. Adhere to all HIPAA and infection control policies. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to deliver excellent pediatric care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current CMA certification. Previous experience in a pediatric or family practice setting preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and families. Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer applications. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a team environment. Work Schedule Full-time or part-time positions available. Some evening or weekend hours may be required.
