Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant (MA) participates in the delivery of excellent medical care in a patient centered physician owned Nephrology Corporation. The MA is responsible for completing administrative and clinical tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
General Duties
  • Adherence to organization's compliance programs, polices, procedures and handbook.
  • Records and updates medical histories, medications and contact information in patient electronic health record (EHR.)
  • Schedules patient appointments and completes referrals for patients.
  • Answer incoming patient calls and return voicemails from patients.
  • Accurate accessioning of patients to include taking and documenting vitals, rooming patients, and collecting lab specimens.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and well-stocked working area (includes exam rooms and clinical areas.)
  • Triage patients.
  • Administrative responsibilities include patient schedule confirmations and working in the front office area as needed.
  • Chart preparation prior to next visit, including obtaining and uploading outstanding patient test results from labs or uploading medical records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

FLOAT POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This is a float Medical Assistant position that will provide coverage at multiple Central Florida Kidney Specialists locations based on operational needs. Candidates must be flexible and able to travel between office locations as assigned. Reliable transportation and the ability to report to different work locations throughout the Central Florida area are required. Qualifications Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish Experience in medical administrative support and patient care Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology Familiarity with EHR systems and vital signs monitoring Basic life support certification
